The Dark Knight this, Heath Ledger that. Blah blah blah. What about the good-old days of Eartha Kitt in that Catwoman get-up and Adam West’s moobs sagging under a disconcertingly tight Batsuit? The Adam West Experience promise to add some Ooof! with a dash of Kapow! when they roll into Red Bull Soapbox Cincinnati 2008. Inspired by what captain David Brightwell generously terms “the wonderful acting methods of the great Adam West,” the Dynamic Quintuple of David, Dan Wolff, Nick Grever, Ken Hayes and Sarah Beth Perry have created a replica of West’s famous Batmobile.

True students of their art, the Adam West Experience will kick off their performance by performing the Batusi. Die-hard Batman fans will recall the dance from the debut episode of the television series starring West. Backed by the original Batman theme song, the team mechanics will shake that Bat-thang before sending Dan screaming down Mount Adams. Perfectly cast as the Caped Crusader, Dan possesses the true hallmark of a superhero: a bizarre, completely random weakness. “Dan is afraid of pie,” David tells us. “Seriously.” As long as no cream-pie-throwing Joker shows up, the Adam West Experience might be saying “Holy People’s Choice Award!” at the competition’s end. That’s providing, of course, that Dan doesn’t go Spla-a-at! into a haystack.
