Red Bull Soapbox Race challenges everyone from amateurs to engineers to craft outrageous human-powered carts to race against the clock in a downhill sprint to the finish line. On October 13, a new batch of brave souls attempted to conquer College Hill with a steep ride down Providence’s Waterman Street.
Over fifty teams of up to five members each were judged on three things: speed, creativity, and showmanship. A final People's Choice team was selected based on SMS text voting during the event. View all winning teams in the Winners Circle.
First place prize was an unforgettable NASCAR experience including flight and hotel which was awarded to The Good, The Bad and The Nerdy from Rapid City, SD. The second prize, which went to Deuces Wild from Swampscott, MA, was an ultimate driving day/weekend at one of the most challenging and exciting racetracks in the country where speeding is a must! The third prize went to team Road Killers from Spofford, NH who received a day of go kart racing. The People's Choice award went to Valhalla Express from Sudbury, MA.
