SEA BULL
Garage Headquarters: Springfield, MO
Driver: To Be Announced
Mechanics: Andrew Yount and others to be announced
Nuts and Bolts:
The malady that plagues Andrew Yount is one that has affected men for centuries. It was perhaps best described by poet John Masefield in his famous work "Sea Fever": "I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide / Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied." Yes, Andrew Yount has sea fever, and he's got it bad; which is a real problem given that he lives in Springfield, Missouri – a thousand miles from the Atlantic and almost twice that far from the Pacific.
Fortunately, Yount resides only 200 miles from St. Louis, and it's there that he'll get his chance to launch a vessel (albeit one in drydock), as he competes with a shipshape racer at the Red Bull Soapbox event. Of course, because it's a gravity-powered contest, his soapbox schooner won't have any sails – but just taking the wheel of a clipper-car will float this competitor's boat. Plus he's looking forward to the fun of spending a day in the company of other free spirits. Like Masefield, all Yount asks "is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow rover / And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over."
